Instructional Design Librarian – SUNY Cobleskill

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Working collaboratively with faculty and students, the Instructional Design Librarian will lead initiatives to ensure a meaningful Library presence in both online and face-to-face courses. They will be responsible for mediating the intersection of information literacy instruction, instructional design and learning technologies; and for providing leadership in effective teaching pedagogy. This is a 12-month tenure track position. The Instructional Design Librarian will be a full member of the Library staff and will lead the new pedagogical service level to the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) offerings. CELT is housed within the Library and reports to the Library Dean.

Distance Learning, Teaching, and Outreach Librarian

Onondaga Community College is accepting applications for a tenure track, Distance Learning, Teaching, and Outreach librarian to join the faculty of Coulter Library. Applicants must have a commitment to working positively with a diverse student population and should be patient, adaptable and flexible. Primary responsibilities involve supervision and expansion of distance learning initiatives, emerging technology services, teaching (online or otherwise), and planning and developing the library’s outreach services. Additional responsibilities include reference, staff supervision, overseeing operations within the library; collection development, student advisement, participation in campus and professional committees and participation in the Department‘s evening and weekend rotations. 
 
Qualifications
 
Required: ALA accredited MLS; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues and other members of the campus community; an enthusiasm for teaching and learning; ability to work as a team leader as well as independently; substantial knowledge of and experience with electronic resources and course management systems; demonstrated knowledge of HTML, graphic software, and social media tools; demonstrated knowledge and experience with electronic and traditional information sources and integrated library systems; successful supervisory experience; exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; superior planning and organizational skills; strong computing and technology skills. 
 
Preferred: Academic reference experience; teaching experience; demonstrated knowledge of web page creation and design.
