Department/College Description: Located in the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, the Vignelli Center for Design Studies is home to the extensive archive of legendary designers Massimo and Leila Vignelli. The archive houses multiple collections dedicated to the designers, including three-dimensional objects, paper and photographic materials related to design work and production, books, personal manuscripts and related documentation. The Vignelli Center also contains an exhibition display area and hosts a variety of public events in support of the Center’s mission and its unique collections.

The Career Development Specialist for the office of Cornell Career Services serves as advising specialist on careers, jobs, and internships related to the areas of teaching, nonprofit, and gap year. Develop expertise on career print and web-based reference materials, social media (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) and web-based tools for undergraduate and graduate students. Provide general career advising through walk-ins, scheduled appointments, telephone, email, information sessions, and workshops; resume and cover letter reviews; mock interviews; and other individualized services. Create, develop, and promote programs, workshops, information sessions and panel presentations. Take the lead role in the coordination and execution of Peer Advisor program. Cornell U – PT Digital Projects Assistant

Cornell University Library’s Hospitality, Labor and Management Library is seeking a Digital Projects Assistant.  As a member of the Digital Projects Group, the Digital Projects Assistant would be responsible for facilitating the editing, uploading and managing of online content for the School of Hotel Administration’s online digital repository.  The most important responsibilities of this position include preparation of selected materials for digitization and uploading of objects to the repository; the successful candidate may help direct the work of student assistants. The Digital Resources Assistant maintains and promotes the Hospitality, Labor, and Management Library’s core values of collaboration, excellence, flexibility, innovation, integrity, and service.
This is a half-time, benefits-eligible, position (20 hours per week) for a term of two years.
•          Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.
•          Strong self-motivation; ability to exercise judgment and self-direction while also working within established guidelines and procedures.
•          Ability to work independently and without close supervision.
•          Ability to work cooperatively with others.
•          Ability to analyze problems and consult with others to make appropriate judgments.
•          Consistency in and aptitude for detailed work.
•          Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple simultaneous demands, and meet deadlines.
•          Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•          Fluent English language skills (both oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications:
•          Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or field related to management, labor, business, or hotel administration.
•          Familiarity with general copyright policies and guidelines with regard to reproducing published content digitally.
•          Familiarity with various social media, including Facebook, Twitter, etc.
•          Working knowledge of a broad range of computer hardware and software, including familiarity with Microsoft Office software, scanning and OCR, etc.
