Instructional Services Librarian, Morrisville State College (Morrisville)

Morrisville State College (SUNY) invites applications for a full-time, tenure track instructional services librarian with an annual 11-month obligation.  The successful candidate will assume the lead role in infusing information literacy learning outcomes into a diverse campus community where the emphasis is on career-focused experiential learning. Instruction activities include a busy schedule of one-shot information literacy sessions and a one credit information literacy course, as well as responsibility for information literacy instruction impact assessment.  The instructional services librarian works independently and collaboratively with our small team of librarians to seek out opportunities to provide information literacy and library services guidance to both students and faculty, online and in-person. Responsibilities include oversight and assessment of Ask 24/7 reference services and participation in library marketing and program development and implementation. Additional duties include providing reference services, subject area liaison duties including collection development and course/subject guide development, and participation on campus-wide committees.

Information Literacy Librarian, University at Albany Libraries (Albany)

The University at Albany Libraries seek a highly productive, innovative Information Literacy Librarian with a keen awareness of emerging instructional technologies, with an emphasis on digital badging. The successful candidate will play an essential role in the ongoing development and support of information literacy initiatives in a variety of in-person and online formats, and will serve as the Libraries’ liaison with the Writing and Critical Inquiry program. This librarian will oversee and further develop the department’s digital badging system, potentially with the assistance of grant funding; seek collaborative badging opportunities with other campus units; create other reusable online learning objects and templates; and provide information literacy instruction.

Collections Archivist, Colgate University (Hamilton)

The Colgate University Libraries seek a collaborative, thoughtful, and forward-thinking individual to fill the position of Collections Archivist. Reporting to the Head of Special Collections and University Archivist, the Collections Archivist accessions, arranges, describes and preserves manuscript and archival collections including University Archives records. The Collections Archivist also participates in records management activities for university records, including the management of electronic records, and provides records management instruction to university offices and departments. The Collections Archivist supervises the department’s student workers and manages the reading room. The individual provides reference services to members of the Colgate community and other researchers and manages reproduction requests. In addition to supporting the department’s general instructional and outreach programs, the Collections Archivist works closely with the Head of Special Collections and University Archivist to support research being conducted in classes and for the university’s bicentennial celebrations.

Cornell University Library seeks a collegial, enthusiastic, and enterprising Digital Humanities Librarian skilled at using technology to support interdisciplinary digital projects in a wide array of subject areas, including but not limited to the digital humanities.  The Digital Humanities Librarian will contribute to and provide leadership for a growing dynamic, multifaceted program that addresses the demand for digital scholarship support on campus, primarily in the College of Arts and Sciences. Working with arts, humanities, and social sciences scholars, faculty, and students, the Digital Humanities Librarian will foster successful use and integration of digital approaches to research, teaching, and learning. The librarian will engage deeply with CUL’s Digital Humanities Collaborative, staff in Digital Scholarship and Preservation Services, scholars around campus, the Society for the Humanities, and other campus entities to identify innovative and evolving digital tools and resources that advance scholarly investigation, while building upon the traditional research methodologies in the arts, humanities, and social sciences disciplines.  Application Deadline:  April 30, 2016

Part-time Physics and Astronomy Librarian, Science and Technology Libraries (Cornell University), Ithaca NY

Cornell University Library’s Science and Technology Libraries seeks a half-time Physics and Astronomy Librarian who will provide responsive services to research and teaching faculty, staff, and students in the Physics and Astronomy Departments. This is a half time term position until January 1, 2018 when it will be combined with the Math Librarian position to create a full time Math, Physics and Astronomy Librarian position. Will work closely with the Coordinator of the Science and Technology Libraries on the vision, mission and responsibilities of the library and collaborate with the Mathematics Librarian, Chemistry Librarian and the Engineering Librarians on services and collections.

Albert R. Mann Library, Cornell University’s library supporting agriculture, life sciences and human ecology, is seeking an innovative, forward-thinking entry-level librarian to join our collection development team. Under the general direction of the Head of Collection Development and Digital Collections, the Collection Development and Digital Collections Librarian coordinates Mann Library’s book selection process (both print and electronic). Key to the position will be monitoring emerging trends in e-book delivery and developing strategies for adapting the Library’s book purchasing to new models. The librarian also works closely with others on the collection development team to build the overall Mann Library collection according to our collection policies.
