Senior Library Clerk, Mirand Library at Roswell Park Cancer Institute

The Senior Library Clerk is responsible for the physical maintenance of the Library’s entire print collection of monographs and periodicals. Print materials are shelved in the third floor of the Library and also in the second floor Library storage space. The second floor library storage includes the pre-1900 monographs (books) and journals (periodicals). The Senior Clerk is responsible for an accurate (electronic) database inventory of the Library’s entire print journal collection and for notifying the library staff in charge of journal purchases and the claiming (requesting) of missing journal issues.

Railroad Collections Project Archivist – Cornell University

Cornell University Library’s Kheel Center for Labor-Management Documentation & Archives seeks qualified candidates for an 18-month, temporary professional position as Railroad Collections Project Archivist. The successful candidate will improve description of 65 archival collections documenting railroad history in the United States, coordinate digitization of roughly 1,600 photographs, and assist with outreach efforts related to the project.

Reference Librarian- University at Albany Libraries

The University at Albany Libraries (State University of New York, Albany, NY) seek a dynamic Reference Librarian to provide reference and research consultation services in the University and Science libraries to students, faculty, staff and community users.  Reference delivery methods include face-to-face, telephone, chat, and individual appointment. Some evening and weekend hours required.  The successful candidate will serve as the subject librarian for the journalism and newspaper collections and as subject liaison to faculty and students in the Journalism program.  This position evaluates and selects resources, provides instruction, and develops and maintains tools to promote and facilitate access to research resources, including online research guides.  Tenure-track library faculty at the University at Albany, SUNY, are expected to engage in research, publication, and service to the Libraries, the University, and the profession, as required for promotion and continuing appointment. This position reports to the Head of the Reference and Research Services Department.

Syracuse U. – reference librarian

Syracuse University Libraries seeks a subject specialist and reference librarian for the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, ensuring that SU Libraries collections and services support the academic and research needs of the students and faculty of the Falk College. Will provide essential services, including research assistance, information literacy instruction, and development of Libraries collections in social work, child & family studies, public health, food studies & nutrition science, marriage & family therapy, and sport management.  A Master’s degree in Library Science is necessary. Some experience in professional library work is desirable. Facility in the use of one or more foreign languages is desirable.

Atlantic Philanthropies Archivist , Cornell University

Cornell’s Rare and Manuscripts Collection is seeking an experienced, outreach-oriented Archivist to oversee all aspects of transfer, arrangement, and description of the Atlantic Philanthropies archives, as well as develop a robust outreach and engagement program for the archives. The Atlantic Philanthropies Archivist will work under the supervision of the Director of the Division, and in close consultation with staff at Atlantic Philanthropies to ensure a smooth transfer of the archives from Atlantic to Cornell as well as documentation of Atlantic’s unique perspectives and experiences in philanthropy.  The Atlantic Philanthropies Archivist will supervise two full-time processing archivists, as well as student assistants, in the work necessary to accession, appraise, stabilize, arrange, and describe the records of Atlantic Philanthropies. Atlantic’s archives are extensive, comprising nearly 2,000 cubic feet of paper records and a significant volume of electronic records. The Archivist will coordinate digitization of appropriate records for dissemination on Cornell and Atlantic web-based platforms.   In addition, the Archivist will lead an ambitious outreach and engagement program to promote access to and understanding of the records that document Atlantic’s extraordinary philanthropic impact. In collaboration with Atlantic staff and designated active curation partners, the Archivist will serve as the ambassador for the archives as well as coordinating the transition of Atlantic’s web-based platforms to Cornell.
