Information Systems Librarian

The E.H. Butler Library at Buffalo State, State University of New York, seeks candidates for the position of Information Systems Librarian.

Required Qualifications:
American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master’s degree.
Demonstrated professional experience with integrated library system administration.
Demonstrated systems administration experience with an interlibrary loan system.
Demonstrated knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in library systems administration.
Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, service oriented environment.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in systems development, including analysis, design, testing, and implementation.
Experience with ExLibris ALEPH.
Working knowledge of server administration.
Experience with ILLiad or similar interlibrary loan system.
Experience installing technical services applications, such as OCLC Connexion, or related applications.
Experience with Banner or other student information systems.
Familiarity with SQL databases and scripting.
Knowledge of internet protocols and basic Linux shell commands.
Experience with a content management system.
Demonstrated instruction experience.

Digital Resources Librarian

The E.H. Butler Library at Buffalo State, State University of New York, seeks candidates for the position of Digital Resources Librarian.

Required Qualifications:
American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master’s degree.
Demonstrated professional experience managing subscription and open access resources in an academic library.
Demonstrated working knowledge of metadata schemes and classification standards.
Demonstrated understanding of current tools, models, and practices used by academic libraries for digital resources discovery.
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting online resources access and functionality issues.
Demonstrated effective communication skills.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ProQuest Summon discovery service or similar discovery platform.
Experience with Serials Solutions or other resource management application.
Experience with Springshare’s LibGuides platform.
Knowledge of markup languages and notations such as HTML or XML.
Knowledge of internet protocols and web-based applications.
Experience working with digital repositories or digital publishing initiatives.
Knowledge of copyright and fair use.
Library instruction experience.
Reference experience.
