Save the date for Unlocking Open Access: Making it work for publishers, authors, and institutions

Date: Friday, 17 October

Location: Craftsman Inn, Fayetteville, NY

Please plan on joining the Upstate New York chapter of SLA (UNYSLA) to dig deep into the evolving world of open access. Open access content is only free to the end user. In this program we’ll view open access from the perspective of publishers, authors, and institutions as we learn how they make the business case to promote open access.

· Hear from publishers actively promoting open access alongside fee-based resources and how they balance seemingly competing demands.

· Learn what initiatives institutions are currently engaged in supporting researchers interested in publishing in open access journals and other repositories.

· See where open access is expanding to including SUNY’s Open Textbook project.

Now that open access has become an established trend, discover what makes open access successful, what does not work, and where we are heading next.

Registration and detailed schedule will be available soon. We hope to see you there!
