New Roles, New Opportunities: What Will SLA’s Revised Core Competencies Mean for Your Career?
Presenter: Kim Dority

A bit more than ten years ago, SLA published its Core Competencies statement, a description of those skills necessary for special librarians to contribute as high-performing professionals. In the ensuing years, nearly everything about information work – and especially special librarianship – has changed radically. The good news? As the professional landscape has shifted, it’s created the potential for new opportunities as well as higher-impact roles. Based on the research so far of the Core Competencies Revision team, this webinar will preview what you can expect from – and how you can prepare for – the new realities of information work.
