U of Rochester – Liaison Program Coordinator

Job Title: Liaison Program Coordinator
Job ID: 180239

FULL DETAILS AT:  http://www.rochester.edu/working/hr/jobs/

With a high level of independent judgment and self-direction, the Liaison Program Coordinator (LPC) is responsible for the liaison program at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), including Miner Library, Bibby Library, and Williams Library. In response to the changing landscape of higher education and health care, and the resulting changes in library collections and services, the LPC directs a group of liaison librarians whose positions emphasize support for healthcare, enriched by education, science, and technology.

The LPC develops an energetic, flexible, and responsive program that supports and encourages the librarians as they build dynamic, collaborative relationships with the researchers, faculty, staff, students, and administration of the URMC. As the technical expert in the field of liaison librarianship, the LPC employs creative thinking and positive outlook to sustain and invigorate the program.

In addition to coordinating the liaison program, the LPC personally serves as liaison to several different departments. In that capacity, the LPC identifies and supports the information needs of the people in those departments through the provision of novel services and tools, promoting awareness of library services and resources, and improving education, research, and patient care. The LPC develops and administers educational programs and instructs clientele, both formally and informally.

Our engagement-centered model embraces the concept that librarians, like all library staff, have leadership responsibilities regardless of their position within Medical Center Libraries and Technologies. Leadership on the part of librarians includes activities such as contributing to goals and strategic library directions through active participation on committees and task forces, locally, nationally, and internationally, and sharing expertise throughout the library in order to further library and university missions.
