For example, the online audio engineering and music course taught by Professors Robert Clark and Mark Bocko illustrates the innovative instruction that the Engineering Research Librarian will support:

The Research Librarian for Engineering is expected to build strong relationships with faculty and other campus professionals and establish collaborative partnerships within and across the institution. Working collaboratively with other librarians, the successful candidate will develop high quality digital and print collections. The Librarian will engage and collaborate with faculty, staff and students around current and emerging digital technologies for learning and research.  The librarian in partnership with the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences will promote undergraduate research opportunities and will provide a dynamic, student-centered research environment that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and creativity for our students.  The Librarian will develop an understanding of the data needs of the engineering departments and work with the Data Librarian to meet their data management, curation and visualization needs. The Research Librarian participates in departmental and library planning, and will serve on library-wide committees, working groups and teams.   The successful candidate is expected to be active professionally and to contribute to developments in the field. The Research Librarian for Engineering reports to the Director of Science and Engineering Libraries.
