Webinar: Everyday Ethics – What Would You Do?

SCRLC is delighted to announce that our March Leadership Luncheon speaker will be Dixie Jones, MLA (Medical Library Assn) President-Elect

Everyday Ethics – What Would You Do?

Date: Tuesday, 12 March
Time: 12:00 noon – 1:00 pm EST
Registration: Free! Must register by 7 March on the SCRLC website

Description: Librarians in all types of libraries are faced with ethical situations on a regular basis. A number of codes are available to inform decision making in these situations, but there are occasions when librarians are faced with true ethical dilemmas where the answers are not clear and a choice must be made between two ethical principles. This presentation will provide a number of ethical scenarios to bring these issues to life. Examples will include personnel management, peer relationships, vendor relationships, client relationships and issues such as confidentiality, honesty, autonomy, and scope of practice.

This training is funded in part by Federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds, awarded to the New York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
