UNYSLA Mentoring opportunities

As information professionals it is our duty to empower our patrons so that they can access and understand the information provided by informational institutions.

The UNYSLA mentoring program offers new and future information professionals the opportunity to learn how to provide patrons with these skills through the expertise of seasoned professionals who are already in the field.

The mentor/mentee relationship allows the mentee to learn about issues, situations, and the day-to-day life of an information professional that is not taught in the classroom. It allows the mentee to combine theorectical and practical knowledge to better prepare themselves for the challenges they will face in the field.

Would you like to assist in providing a more well rounded education for new and future informational professionals?

  • Share your real world experiences and insights
  • Teach skills you believe essential for success
  • Assist new professionals with setting goals, encouragement, and creating contacts

Take an active role in shaping the informational profession. Become a mentor and help shape the future!
