UNYSLA Board Elections Now Open

UNYSLA members, vote today for the incoming board.


Candidate for 2013 President-Elect:  Jenna Mayotte, Syracuse University
JennaMayotteJenna has worked as the business librarian at Syracuse University Library since 2008, serving as a liaison to the Whitman School of Management, as well as the Sport Management department of the Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. As a subject specialist librarian, she is responsible for both public service and collection development in all areas of business and management, and is also a manager in the unit for Research, Collections and Scholarly Communication. She previously worked at Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management as associate vice president of Marketing, and worked in communications and outreach for a non-profit electric utility association, supporting solar energy initiatives at the U.S. Department of Energy.Jenna obtained a B.S. from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Library Science from the University of Illinois. She is a member of the College & University Business Librarians (CUBL) Section of the Special Libraries Association, and currently serves as Secretary for the Upstate New York Special Libraries Association.
Candidate for 2013-2014 Vendor Relations Chair:  Ken Bolton, Cornell University 
KenBoltonUNYSLAKen Bolton is a librarian at Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration. His responsibilities include reference, instruction, outreach, and collection development. Ken also teaches a credit course in the school, titled Information Retrieval and Research Methods.
Candidate for 2013-2014 Treasurer:  Ruth Owens 
Ruth Owens is the Instructional Technologies Librarian at Cayuga Community College in Auburn, NY and has been a member of SLA and UNYSLA since 2008. She earned her MSLIS from Syracuse University in 2010. With a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Colorado State University, Ruth is especially interested in science data management and science librarianship. Ruth also participates on the Resource Sharing Advisory Committee of the South Central Regional Library Council.
