Finger Lakes Library System and SCRLC are delighted to present a hands-on day-long session by Polly-Alida Farrington, WordPress for Library Web Sites – An Introduction, on Friday, September 28 at SCRLC’s Martin Learning Center, Ithaca.

Thanks to an LSTA grant awarded to Finger Lakes Library System this session is free, but the class size is limited to 20 to guarantee quality, hands-on instruction.

If you have been looking for a simple way to have an attractive, dynamic and useful web presence for your library that will help you better serve your community; one that is easy to maintain and without spending anything on software. Come learn how it can be done with WordPress, an easy-to-use content management system (CMS) that lets you create and maintain a library or personal website without learning complex and expensive web development software.

Our instructor, Polly-Alida Farrington, is the co-author of the newly released ALA Editions title Learning from Libraries that Use WordPress: Content-Management Systems Best Practices and Case Studies. She is also a lead instructor for ALA’s e-courses on How to Build Your Library Website with WordPress.
