Demystifying CI: Leveraging Existing Strengths to Build a CI Offering

Competitive Intelligence can be an intimidating phrase! Many librarians and information professionals are already providing CI services to their organization, without calling it “CI.”  Learn from a longtime SLA member how to use CI as an effective marketing tool to capitalize on your strengths as an info pro, including how to:

  1. engage in meaningful dialogue with your organization’s decision makers about the potential value of a CI service offering;
  2. generate ideas for CI projects that will positively impact your organization’s strategic direction;
  3. develop an effective process for CI projects–turning your already stellar research and organizational skills into CI assets; and
  4. repackage your research into a branded product that provides significant value to internal and external customers.
