Job Description – Vice President for Libraries and Information Technology

POSITION SUMMARY:
This newly-created position will report directly to President William Fox and serve as a member of the University’s Senior Staff. Direct reports to the Vice President for Libraries and Information Technology will be the Directors of the Library, Network Technologies, IT Client Services, and Educational Technologies.

The new Vice President will be charged with developing and articulating a strategic vision that aligns the work of the Libraries and Information Technology, as well as the staff in these two areas.  A crucial part of this planning will be to develop a vision of a Learning Commons to be housed in the Owen D. Young Library and to promote the integration of new information and computing systems in the teaching, learning, and administrative work of the University.
